„Every 3 days? Every 3 days!“ – Violence against women is one of the most common human rights violations worldwide.
The sculpture „Stop Violence Against Women“ by Nora Matocza in our club rooms makes a clear statement on the topic of femicide.
The installation refers to the fact that on average, one femicide happens every day in Germany.
Femicide refers to the killing of women or girls as an extreme form of gender-based violence committed in the context of patriarchal gender differences.
Femicides are not isolated incidents; they are an expression of structural patriarchal violence. @femizide_stoppen counted over 100 murdered women in 2025. The actual number is likely higher. The greatest danger comes from individuals within a close social circle.
From 01.01.2026 to 16.03.2026, there are already 59 femicide perpetrators where women fell victim to the violence of their partner, ex-husband, acquaintance, relative, partner, brother, son, father, classmate, neighbor, colleague, etc.: 32 women, 1 girl (6), 1 boy (14) were murdered; in addition, 25 other women were injured, some of them very seriously. (Status: 16.03.2026, https://www.onebillionrising.de/femizide-2026/).
Not One Less!
Femicides are just the tip of the iceberg; consistent protection from violence is needed, enabling everyone, regardless of gender, to live a free life as equals.
